Effects of the crude extract (BTL) and compound 8 from the leaves of Bauhinia thonningii on the activity of caspases in CCRF-CEM cells after 6 h treatment. IC50 values 14.23 µg/mL for BTL and 3.03 µM for compound 8. Control cells were treated with DMSO to a final concentration of 0.1%. The Caspase-Glo assay was used to detect the activity of Caspases; Caspase activity was expressed as percentage (%) compared to untreated cells. Results display mean values ± SD of three assays. BTL slightly induced the activation of caspases 3/7, 8, and 9; compound 8 induced higher activation of caspases 3/7, 8, and 9
