BALF was centrifuged to obtain cell pellets, which were resuspended in PBS, followed by centrifuging onto slide glass and subsequent staining with Wright−Giemsa staining. The slides were microscopically observed (magnification, × 40) for differential cell count by counting a total of 300 cells per slide. Total cell number in BALF was measured by cell counting using a hemocytometer. Data are expressed as mean ± SD (n = 10). Bars sharing a common letter are not significantly different between groups at p < 0.05
