Cell viability determinations of THP-1 cells treated with linalool and LEOs. Viability of the THP-1 cells was measured using CCK-8 cell viability assay after 6 h (A) and 24 h (B) long treatments with DMSO, linalool and LEOs using serial dilutions of the stock solutions. Viability is expressed as percentile of the total cell number of the control cells. The bars represent mean values and error bars represent standard deviation (SD) for four independent experiments (n = 4). Cell viability assays were carried out in triplicate in each experiment. Asterisks indicate p < 0.05 compared to the DMSO treated cells used as controls. The diagrams were created using the same logical structure and the different treatments appeared in the same sequence in each figure in order to improve traceability of the results
