Neither EAB extract nor annonacin increases caspase 3/7 activity. Relative fluorescence expression of caspase-3/7 activity in DU-145 cells treated for 24 h with annonacin and ethyl acetate extract of A. muricata were detected using the fluorescence caspase-3/7 green reagent using untreated cells as control while 10 μM H2O2 was used as positive control. No caspase-3/7 was detected when cells were treated with EAB extract and annonacin as expressed in fold higher than control activity. Data are expressed as means ± SEM of triplicate values. Data subjected to analysis using one-way ANOVA. ** indicates statistically significant difference from corresponding untreated control (P < 0.001)
