  1. Hyperuricemic rats were induced by a potassium oxonate injection 1 h before the last drug administration. The CEE at 600 mg/kg, the BuOH fr. at 120 mg and allopurinol at 10 mg/kg were orally administrated once a day for five consecutive days. The control and normal groups were orally administered with 0.5% CMC-Na. The serum uric acid levels of rats were measured by the phosphotungstic acid method. Values are displayed as mean ± SEM
