Effects of NB on autophagy including the alteration of autophagic related proteins in NSCLC cells (H460). (A) NSCLC cells (H460) were treated with 0–10 µM of NB for 24 h. MDC was added to stained autophagic vacuoles in cultured cells. Images were captured using a fluorescence microscope. (B) H460 cells were treated with 0–10 µM of NB for 6 and 24 h. Western blot analysis was performed to detect the LC3B protein levels. The blots were reprobed with β-actin to confirm an equal loading of each sample. The uncropped blotting bands were presented in Additional file 2. Densitometry was used to calculate the protein expression levels and the values of protein levels were presented as the fold changes relative to inactive form of the proteins. Data represent the mean ± SD (n = 3) (* 0.01 ≤ p < 0.05, ** p < 0.01, compared with the untreated control)
