MPSE inhibited radiation-induced activation of the PI3K/AKT and MAPK signaling pathway in breast cancer cells. A,C MCF7 and MDA-MB231 cells were pre-treated with MPSE (20 μg/mL) for 24 h and exposed to fractionated irradiation (3.3 Gy/day for 3 days). Total cell lysates were prepared 48 h after treatment and were subjected to Western blotting analysis of PI3K/AKT and MAPK pathways related proteins (total AKT, p-AKT, total ERK1/2, p-ERK1/2, total JNK, and p-JNK) in breast cancer cells. B,D Western blot signals were quantified and intensity of phosphorylated and total protein normalized loading control GAPDH are presented in a bar graph. Data are presented as mean ± SD of three independent experiments (numbers in the bars represent the mean of each group).
