Expression of autophagy regulators in liver tissue. Western blot analysis measured the Beclin, LC3-I/II and β-actin proteins in total liver homogenate using their specific antibodies. Band intensity of each protein were measured using an imaging densitometer, and the expressions of the two proteins were calculated relative to the intensity of β-actin protein. Three to five mice per group were used in the preparation of liver homogenates, and Western blot analysis was assayed in duplicate for each sample. Data represent the mean ± SD. Asterisk symbol (*) indicates significant P < 0.05 compared to the No treated group. Sharp symbol (#) indicates significant P < 0.05 compared to the HFD + Vehicle treated group
