Effects of 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E; 5 mg/kg, 10 mg/kg, 20 mg/kg) and pioglitazone (PIO) on the levels of the following signaling proteins in the liver: Akt, pAkt Ser473, FOXO1, pFOXO1 Ser256, AMPKα, pAMPKα Thr172, and FGF21. The signaling proteins were measured by immunoblotting and normalized to GAPDH. Data are listed as the fold-change in expression levels relative to the sham control group. Representative bands are shown in the top panel. OHFFD: OVX fed a high-fat high-fructose diet. Values are means ± SEM for 7–8 animals/group. Data comparisons between groups were performed using one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey’s post hoc analysis. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 between the indicated groups
