Effects of Curcumin on peritoneum function and TGF-β1 content in peritoneal effluence. Curcumin attenuates the decrease in ultrafiltration volume and (a) increase in mass transfer of glucose (MTG) (b) in PF rats. ELISA showed that compared with control group, PF rats showed significantly higher expression of TGF-β1 (c) in peritoneal effluence, and these changes can be attenuated by curcumin.
