Effects of CBNPs on cell viability assessed by MTT (a) and LDH (b) assay, and on changes of mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm) (c) and nuclear condensation (d) in A549 cells. ΔΨm was measured by JC-1 staining and analyzed by a flow cytometer. Nuclear condensation (white arrow) was determined by Hoechst 33,342 and observed by a fluorescent microscope. Cells were treated with CBNPs for 24 h. Bars represent the mean ± S.E.M. from six independent experiments. *P < 0.05, **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001 vs. control group (without any treatment).
