Results shown represent the change in G6Pase (a) and GS (b) activities observed after overnight treatment of H4IIE and HepG2 cells with maximum non-toxic concentration of isolated compounds: CA (70.5 μM), GA (147 μM), PA (162.2 μM) and Cat (45.5 μM). Results are expressed relative to DMSO (0.1%) vehicle control (a: 0% inhibition; b: 100 % activity). Insulin (100 nM) was used as a positive control. **: p<0.01 and ***: p<0.001 significantly different from DMSO (n=3 in triplicates)
