Immunomodulatory effects of uMakhonya® at doses of 100 and 10 μg/mL on the secretion of 12 inflammatory cytokines over 24 h in PBMCs pre-stimulated with PG-S. aureus (100 μg/mL) for 2 h. Secretion of IL-1β, IL-4, IL-6, IL-12, IL-17α, IFNγ, and TNFα significantly decreased (p < 0.05) after the addition of uMakhonya® compared to that in PG-S. aureus-treated samples. Secretion of IL-2 did not show a significant change when compared to control samples. Secretion of only IL-1α and GM-CSF was increased (p < 0.05) by the addition of uMakhonya® to samples stimulated with PG-S. aureus
