Effect of Kiom-18 extract on the formation of atherosclerotic plaque. The negative control (NC) mice were given unlimited access to a normal diet (AIN-76A) for 2 weeks, and then they were fed a Western diet for 14 weeks (n = 4). The treatment group of mice were administered Kiom-18 daily by gavage at a concentration of 1 g/kg and were fed a Western diet. The mice were measured for body weight (a), fat weight, liver weight, food efficiency, neutrophils (b), and plasma biochemical parameters (c). Atherosclerotic plaque and neo-intima/media area ratio were analyzed in the transverse section stained with H&E (d). The data are presented as the mean ± SEM. Significant differences compared to the negative control (NC) are shown by *p < 0.05 or **p < 0.01
