Photomicrographs of rat femur sections of different experimental groups stained with haematoxylin and eosin. (1 and 2): negative control group revealed no histopathological alteration in the condyle cartilaginous surface as well as the bony trabeculae and bone marrow. (3 and 4): the osteoporotic group revealed mild bone resorption in the trabeculae with intact Havarsian system. (5 and 6): Osteoporotic-treated rats with parsley extract showed bone resorption in the trabeculae associated with hypertrophy in the cartilaginous structure of the condyle and intact Haversian system in the shaft of the long bone.
