Huh-7 cells were cultured with different concentrations of MP for 24 h under serum-free conditions. After 24 h of treatment, SOD activity (a), catalase activity (b), intracellular GSH levels (c), and intracellular MDA levels (as a marker of lipid peroxidation) (d) were measured as described in Methods. The total cellular protein content was also measured and the results of the enzyme activity were expressed per mg protein (n = 3; ^# p < 0.05 and ^## p < 0.01)
