Figure 2 shows the effect of different doses of Curcuma Longa (CL) on colonic mucosa before (b) or after (a) the onset of acetic acid-induced IBD. The hyperaemia and ulcers caused by IBD in the colon of these rats were less severe compared to those that were treated with CL after the onset of IBD. 10 mg/kg of CL appears to have the most beneficial effect (n = 6)
