NJM/fractions induce apoptosis in MDA-MB-231 cells by Hoechst 33258 staining. MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with 0.1% DMSO (negative control), NJM, NJPE, NJDE, NJEA, and doxorubicin (positive control) for 48 h. The cells were fixed, stained with Hoechst 33258 and observed under fluorescent microscope at 40X. (A) Representative images of cells after treatment for 48 h. Apoptotic morphology was confirmed by nuclear condensation, formation of membrane blebs, round apoptotic bodies (orange arrows) (B) Number of apoptotic cells were estimated by counting apoptotic cells in six different fields.
