From: Allicin prevents H2O2-induced apoptosis of HUVECs by inhibiting an oxidative stress pathway
Effects of allicin on cell death of HUVEC cells induced by 0.5 mM H 2 O 2 . HUVECs were cultured with 0.5 mM H2O2 and various concentrations of allicin (1, 10, 20, 40 μg/mL) for 6, 12, or 24 hours. Thirty minutes prior to the end of the incubation period, MTT assays were performed to quantify metabolic activity. Each bar represents the mean ± SEM. *p <0.05, **p <0.01 compared with normal HUVECs.
