Figure 3

Neuroprotection of CDT on Aβ 25-35 -induced neuronal damage. (A) HE staining was used to evaluate the neuronal damage of hippocampus (Magnification × 200); (B) The damage of pyramidal cells in hippocampal CA3 region (Magnification × 800), the arrowheads represents the nuclear pyknosis. A large number of damaged neurons were seen in the CA3 of the hippocampus in Aβ25-35 treated mice (B-2). Compared with Aβ25-35 treated mice, there was less neuronal damage in the CA3 of the hippocampus of Huperzine A and LCDT treated mice; (C) Counts of the total number of cells in the hippocampus and CA3 (n = 18). The columns represent the means and SD of cell numbers in 24 animals. Data are expressed the mean ± s.e.m for five samples per treatment group. * p < 0.05 compared with control group; # p < 0.05 compared with Aβ25-35 treated group; $ p < 0.05 compared with 0.4 mg/kg Huperzine A group.
