EEA (150, 300, and 600 mg/kg) and senna (150 and 300 mg/kg) were orally administered daily to constipated rats that had been maintained on a low-fiber diet for 5 weeks. EAA or senna were orally administered to the rats, then the frequency of diarrhea was measured over the next 16 h. n = 12.
